Revolutionizing Etherscan — How to Find the True Value of an ETH Wallet

Purpose

This project aims to provide a new framework for measuring the value and integrity of an Ethereum wallet and smart contract by utilizing all on-chain data.

Vision

When people talk about blockchain Ethereum wallets and browse Etherscan, they always focus on the transferable assets—the amount of crypto or NFTs inside a wallet. At first glance, this is reasonable: what value could a wallet with no assets possibly hold? Yet, in my opinion, there is far more data behind a wallet’s address than just transferable assets. I believe that even if a wallet currently has no crypto or NFTs, it might still hold value. And sometimes, these fixed assets may yield more than transferable ones.

This is because wallets in Web3 are not just a means of storage but also accounts and identities that grant access to decentralized applications like GameFi and SocialFi. Just as people sell their PUBG or Instagram accounts for thousands of dollars, wallets may inherently contain similar value. For example, if you play Otherdeed for Otherside by Yuga Labs and decide to quit, you can easily sell your ApeCoins and NFT island, but you cannot sell your “In-Game Achievements,” “Account Level,” “Ranks,” or “Historical Records.” This mirrors Web2 gaming accounts, where some sell at high prices not only for their skins but also for historical records such as ranks and achievements.

This phenomenon extends beyond GameFi. Many projects mint non-transferable NFTs as identification. These NFTs might be in extreme demand, but there is no way to transfer them. Moreover, Decentralized Identity (DID) projects have already proven that account activity itself has value: an active address earns a high rating, and many project airdrops prioritize those with higher DID ratings. With the help of smart contract wallets built on ERC-4337, transferring the ownership of an entire wallet becomes possible. Therefore, we need a new way to measure the value of a wallet.

Wallet
The Ether Wallet Address. Matters because it is an unique on chain identifyer.
Created
The Time this Wallet is Created. Matters because older wallets indicates established history and reputation.
Most Recent Tx
The Most Recent on Chain Transaction. Matters as recency is a strong signal of current activeness.
Tx Count
Total Numbers of Transactions. Matters because transaction amount measures breath of on chain behavior.
ETH Balance
The Current ETH Amount in the Wallet
Total $ Transferred
The Total Amount of USDT Valued ETH Transferred

Side by Side Analysis (How to Use & Insights)

For DID platforms, SocialFi teams, and potential buyers/airdrop allocators, activity-based analysis provides a clearer signal than balances alone. Measuring usage frequency, recency, and breadth of interactions helps distinguish active users from dormant addresses. Data for each account can be pulled from the Etherscan API, compared across different wallet groups, and fed into ranking/eligibility algorithms.

From the data, we could gain the knowledge:

How to Use & Insights

Since NFTs are a vital part of the Ethereum ecosystem, an account's NFT portfolio is just as important as its ERC-20 balance. By examining the NFT page, we can gain true insights into whether the account is run by humans or not. Many ETH accounts are smart contract accounts or wallet storage for large corporations, but only personal accounts with active engagement in the community will own NFTs. Thus, this not only provides more insight into how active a wallet is on-chain but also whether it is human or not.

Glossary

ERC-4337
ERC-4337 is a standard for account abstraction on the Ethereum blockchain. It defines a set of rules and interfaces that allow users to interact with smart contracts without managing their own private keys.
DID (Decentralized Identifier)
An identity model where on-chain activity can inform a reputation/score used for access/airdrops.
Airdrop
Token/NFT distribution from NFT/GameFi platforms typically favoring highly active accounts.
Smart-Contract Wallet
A programmable wallet controlled by code(smart contract by its name) rather than a single EOA private key.
ERC-20
Fungible tokens like ETH.
Soulbound Token (SBT)
A non-transferable token used for identity, credentials, or membership proof.
